Murcia was very close to achieving the first win in its history against Sporting. They were leading 4-0 at half-time, but a false start in the second half ruined everything for the Cascais Municipal team. After the draw at Valongo, the Lions are back to winning ways in the tournament and are one point behind Oliverense and Porto.

Sporting was not at full strength. Angelo Girao and Joao Soto served the final match suspended, while coach Alejandro Dominguez was absent due to personal reasons. Murchis started strong and scored after 40 seconds through Paulo Dias. Goncalo Nunes, a former Sporting player, made it 2-0 and scored two goals from a penalty kick, while Tomas Moreira scored from a direct free kick to make it 4-0.

After the break, it was Murcia's job to stop Sporting's response, but they failed miserably. In three minutes, Ferran Font (direct free kick), Facundo Bridge and Nolito (penalty kick) reduced the score. It was the first shot in the foot for the young Moorchis, a club in its second season in hockey's elite.

Nine minutes before the end, Argentine Facundo Bridge equalized, leaving Tony Perez Sporting in the lead. With 3:42 to go, Gonzalo Nunes completed the hat-trick from a free kick, but Murchis shot himself off the foot and conceded two goals… in 18 seconds after making it 5-5! Ferran Font was the scorer of both Supersonic goals, and Nolito completed the number of penalty kicks. “Our performance was great in the second half,” assistant coach David Pereira said.

Murches coach Hugo Lourenco complained about the refereeing. “Eight set pieces for Sporting? The game was not that aggressive. We analyze matches, and the referees also have to do that. What we did in the first half was not easy.”
