Three Nine-Year-Old Students Shot Dead at Nashville School – NRK Urix – Foreign News & Documentaries

Police in Nashville said six people were killed in the attack, three children and three adults. They were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, but their lives were not saved.

Police in Nashville said on Twitter Monday evening that the three children are aged nine and in their 60s.

Police in Nashville confirmed that the perpetrator, presumably a 28-year-old woman, was also killed by police. In doing so, a total of seven people died.

Find a map and show with the woman

Police believe the woman is a former student at the school. They initially said she looked teenage, but later corrected that.

The 28-year-old had drawn up a detailed map of the school, a private Christian elementary school with about 200 students, according to Reuters.

– We believe the perpetrator entered the school by shooting through one of the doors, say the police.

Along with the map, the police also found a statement, bolstering the police theory that the act was a targeted attack.

The woman, who was living in Nashville, has been identified by police, according to CNN.

The attack began shortly before 10:30 a.m. local time, and police received the first reports of the incident shortly after, according to the New York Post.

The perpetrator is said to have been carrying at least two machine guns and a handgun.

We believe two of these weapons may have been legally obtained locally here, Police Chief John Drake said at a news conference Monday night.

BIDEN: – We must do more

After the incident, US President Joe Biden asked Congress to take action to enforce stricter gun laws.

– this is sick. We need to do more to protect our schools so they don’t end up like prisons. Biden says I am once again asking Congress to pass my gun embargo.

He added that gun violence in the United States is tearing societies apart.

We must do more to protect our schools, says Biden.
