Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley steps up her fight against Donald Trump. It is the year in particular that you are targeting.
At Friday’s conference, Haley, 51, told conservative politicians to invest in young leaders, and sharply criticized Republican results in the last election.
“If you’re tired of losing, put your trust in a new generation,” she exhorted participants at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference.
Haley did not mention Trump by name, but once again asked that an “aptitude test” be given to politicians over the age of 75. Trump is 76 years old.
He did not respond to the attack on the age.
Haley is the first heavyweight to register herself as a challenger to Trump in the nomination battle ahead of the presidential election, which will take place in the fall of 2024. Haley is a former UN ambassador to the United States.
Ask Biden about hardline criticism
Americans are also concerned about the age of the current president. Joe Biden, who is 80, will remain in power until he turns 86, if he wins.
