Trump wrote on Truth Social that he will leave his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida and fly to New York Monday afternoon, local time.

– I’m going, believe it or not, to court. America should not have been this way, Trump wrote in the post on Monday. His hearing is scheduled to begin on Tuesday at 2.15pm local time.

As part of the trial, Trump will first go through the standard procedure of submitting fingerprints and a photograph. Then he will be brought before a judge and presented with an indictment, after which, according to his lawyer, he will plead not guilty.

The indictment relates to the payment of so-called hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels. The indictment itself is still exempt from public disclosure, which is standard procedure in New York before a defendant is brought to court.

The 76-year-old former president has repeatedly said he is completely innocent and accused Attorney General Alvin Bragg, the Democrat who led the investigation against him, of trying to damage his electoral chances.
