The UD Leiria-Benfica B match will take place on August 19 (Saturday), at 2 pm, in the match of the second round of the Portuguese SABSEG League. The match, which will be broadcast on SportTV+, will be the first of the season at Estádio Dr. Magalhães Pessoa, home of UD Leiria.

In the first round, União Desportiva de Leiria, who returned to the professional ranks, drew 0-0 with Paços de Ferreira, recently relegated to the second division, in the first match in which the Leirienses were always closer to scoring. Man of the match was Jordan van der Gaag (son of Van der Gaag, a former central defender who played in Portugal, with Belenenses and Maritimo), a player who renewed with UD Leiria until 2026.
Benfica B has already won the three points by beating CD Mafra at home 3-2. Nelson Verissimo’s side took a 2-0 lead, but conceded an equaliser, with a goal from Gelson Benchimol sealing the score in the 82nd minute. The striker, who scored the Eagles’ second and third goals, was the figure of the match. The scoreboard opened in the 29th minute with a penalty goal scored by Maestro (Antonio Mwanza).
The match between UD Leiria and Benfica B is expected to be very competitive and tough for both teams.
