Ukraine’s counterattack: – It will be very, very bloody

For several months, Ukraine has been preparing a counteroffensive to recapture the Russian-occupied regions of the country. But since its implementation at the beginning of June, Ukrainian forces appear to have made less progress on the battlefield than they themselves would like.

Because although Ukraine’s progress has been slower than expected, says US Defense Chief Mark Milley in an interview with the National Press Club.

– It will take a long time

He predicts that the counterattack will take time and cost many lives. He says that, among other things, Ukrainian forces were forced to advance through minefields and trenches.

There is a difference between war on paper and real war. In a real war, real people die. There are real people on the front lines and in the vehicles. The real corpses, Mellie says, were ripped apart by explosives.

An attack is expected to last for several months.

Tough fights

On Saturday, the Ukrainian military reported that the heaviest fighting was taking place in Bakhmut and Marinka in eastern Ukraine, he writes. CNN.
