Ron DeSantis wanted to distract from the abortion issue with a grim stunt. He is now being investigated for possible human trafficking.

High-ranking governor of Florida And Ron DeSantis, a Fox News favorite, believes he will save the Republican Party from being mired in abortion protests ahead of the midterm elections. Instead, he himself ended up in deep water.
Perhaps the ruler was simply guilty of human trafficking and ostentation. This is the man who is considered Trump’s biggest rival and potential heir as a presidential candidate.
Last week, DeSantis sent a plane to San Antonio, Texas, where he picked up 48 asylum seekers, flew them to the tiny island of Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts and threw them outside a local church without warning. Asylum seekers, most of whom fled Venezuela’s socialist dictator Maduro, were promised shelter and work. Little did they know the offer came from an unscrupulous man who abused them on the way to the White House.
A call to die for Putin
It was a political trick Broadcasting live on Fox News, reporters put microphones in young children’s faces and asked them in faltering Spanish what they thought of their new home. The kids couldn’t answer anyway. Neither they nor their parents knew their whereabouts. They pretended to be going to Boston.
The joke was still loose both in the Fox camp and in the DeSanti campaign trail soon after. If the Democrats sure want open borders, let them have it, said DeSantis, to cheerful cheers. He was convinced that the liberal citizens of the East Coast would protest when they got the asylum seekers on their doorstep. But this did not happen. Instead, asylum seekers were given roofs over their heads, food, and health care. People flocked all over the island to help.
what worked As an unabashedly evil idea on paper, I miscalculated horribly. Here they were on their way to getting rid of the refugees on Celebrity Island, where Obama, Clinton and other wealthy liberals all spend their lives. They had to show their hypocrisy on an open platform and at the same time make the election campaign revolve around the favorite topic of immigration and the crisis at the border.
But wealthy vacationers have long left the island for this season. They were in the past permanent residents, ordinary workers and fishermen, who stepped in to help without hesitation. Instead, they can prove that they are in fact more humane than the governor of Florida.
Even Donald Trump was angry. He was angry that DeSantis had stolen his idea, an old and brutal idea in American politics, by the way, with Southern states moving blacks north and putting homeless states on a bus to other states. The United States is far from alone when it comes to treating its own citizens, let alone newcomers.
The Republicans in Florida were also unaffected by the ruler’s political game, many of them Cuban exiles who themselves fled the communist dictatorship. Was this some way of treating exhausted refugees from a similar system? Wasn’t DeSantis an enemy of Maduro, and so he mistreated those fleeing tyranny?
Cruelty is the point, She says about the confrontational style of the Republicans. Evil is the point. While Democrats always wake up shocked by the evil – using desperate families with children as political pawns that can’t be called anything else – Republicans know that it works. Mobilizes primary voters. In the Fox News bubble, no one actually found out what happened, other than the false claim that Democrats support open borders, but don’t want asylum seekers in their area. The truth is that Joe Biden has tacitly continued Trump’s inhumane border policy, and liberal cities like Chicago, Los Angeles and New York are full of immigrants.
So maybe DeSantis succeeded in reaching core voters who believe in the simple message; Here the Democrats got what they deserved. It’s easy to criticize the border states when you live by yourself thousands of miles away. Hypocrisy revealed.
But DeSantis may have run into bigger problems than criticism in liberal circles. He is now under investigation for several possible crimes. The local police chief in Texas, where the asylum seekers were taken, has opened an investigation into what happened. Transferring unregistered asylum seekers from one country to another under false pretenses and without notifying the authorities can be mere human trafficking. In practice, the transfer means that asylum seekers have not had the opportunity to register with the local authorities, as they are required to. DeSantis may also have problems with federal authorities. As governor, he is only allowed to transfer asylum seekers in the state. In addition, he used huge funds intended for dealing with asylum seekers, not campaigning.
law and order party As Republicans like to call themselves, they struggle with both law and order after Trump. Inspired by the president, many of the local top politicians seem to act like tyrannical tyrants who can do whatever they like. DeSantis has also adopted Trump’s mafia deterrent tactic to go after anyone who criticizes him with all his power and resources.
Meanwhile, refugees continue to stream north into the Land of Liberty without US politicians being able to agree on immigration reform. For all his spells to build a wall, Trump has failed to solve the problem with anything other than gross violations of human rights. Joe Biden isn’t doing it quietly either.
