Villas-Boas: “I regret not saying goodbye to Sergio Conceicao”

On Friday afternoon, Andre Villas-Boas introduced Vitor Bruno as the new coach of FC Porto. At the ceremony held at the presidential podium at the Estádio do Dragão, the new leader of the Dragons began by thanking Sergio Conceição for his work.

“We have completed a magical cycle, and we are very proud of it. To Sergio Conceição, a man with a strong personality who defended the colors of our symbol, we want to thank for everything he has given to FC Porto. This is your home and you will always be welcomed. “You have my word,” he began by saying Villas-Boas, who, when asked by journalists, expressed his regret for not paying the tribute, shortly after taking office.

“I must feel sorry for not bidding farewell, as agreed, in a dignified manner to coach Sergio Conceicao for what he has done in the last seven years. Let it be clear that the honor for Sergio Conceicao is due. Choose the date of your choice, and we will be here to welcome you with open arms.”

With Vitor Bruno at his side, the Porto president signaled a new era.

“We will give you support, talent and organization. The necessary elements to achieve everything we want,” said the manager, adding an ambitious goal for the first season: “I want FC Porto to become national champions immediately next year.”
