On Wednesday night, Vitória achieved their fourth win in as many official matches this season with a 1-0 victory on their visit to Arouca, in the match that marked the end of the first round of the Primera Division 24/25. After three wins in the three matches they have already played in the qualifying rounds of the UEFA Conference League, the Guimarães team also started to win the national championship.

Playing at home, Arouca threatened first with a shot that hit the post of Sylla, but it was Vitória, who had also been dangerous before, who scored in the first quarter of an hour through experienced striker Nelson Oliveira. A tense cross from João Mendes crossed the entire home penalty area, in an attempt to cut it down, ended up at the feet of Caio Cesar and the Brazilian took advantage to delay it for Nelson Oliveira who fired into the back of the goal. The goal.

The game remained balanced and well contested, with both sides having chances to score, but the scoreline remained unchanged until the end of the first half. In the second half, Arouca tried to make up for the loss, trying to get Vitoria back into their midfield, but without being able to create much danger, and saw their hopes of an equaliser diminish further as the final quarter of an hour entered.

Matías Rocha received a second yellow card and was sent off. The Aroqua center back had already received a yellow card and fouled Chucho Ramirez and ended up being sent off.

On Thursday, they return to the stadium to host Zurich, in the second leg of the third qualifying round of the Conference League, after beating Switzerland 3-0 in the first leg. The next match of the tournament will also be at the Afonso Henriques Stadium, against Estoril Praia, on Sunday, August 18, starting at 6 pm.

As for Arouca, they will visit Moreirense on the same day, starting at 3:30 pm, in the second round of the Spanish League 24/25.
