Weekend at the Museum combines programming, science and fun for kids and teens

a Unicamp Museum of Scientific Exploration It promotes another weekend full of activities for all ages, developing scientific concepts in a hands-on and fun way. a “Weekend at the Museum” On Saturday, September 17, it will be from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and will also include guided visits to Tempo-Espaço Square and the Meteorological Station (FEAGRI).

This event is ready to Paper Science FestivalA big meeting between teams and “athletes” takes place in the second week of October.

The workshops only require pre-registration and are broken down by different age groups and times. Children up to the age of 13 must remain accompanied by children, the recommendation is to use a mask in all activities.

About the workshop: Participants will create their own kite models, and learn about scientific concepts applied to building and flying different types of aircraft. See some models of aircraft.

About the workshop: Participants will build a cardboard Super Rocket to perform amazing launches, using materials they have at home. In the workshop, the group will learn about basic concepts of physics used in building rockets, explore methods for comparing distances, and techniques for improving flight. printable template (or drawing).

About the workshop: The group will learn about all parts of orchids that are involved in attracting pollinators such as bees, moths and birds. The participant will have the opportunity to manipulate the flowers in the hands-on activity.

About the workshop: Participants will learn to grow different types of orchids in pots and learn about different types of suitable materials. The workshop takes the group into curiosity about orchids that grow on trees, in the ground, or even directly on rocks. If desired, the participant can take the orchid from home for replanting.

Small world of paper viruses

About the workshop: As a group, the workshop proposes to build a small paper world to study viruses, cells and how infections occur. The activity mixes assembling viruses on paper with a huge drawing of a cell, in which participants will build a narrative of how the relationship between the elements occurred.
