WhatsApp has announced new functions to avoid having to use two cell phones for different accounts

Starting this week, WhatsApp will gradually start making a new feature available to all users in its smartphone app.

However, this will only be available to those who use the app on Android: new is the permission to link two accounts on the same phone. Until now, anyone with a personal account who managed a professional account (for a brand, for example) had to use two smartphones.

Now, it’s easy to switch between two accounts – however, to do this, you need a dual-SIM smartphone or one with the ability to configure an eSIM (although the latest iPhones have this last feature, it doesn’t at the moment). . , I planned for both accounts to have access to the iOS app).

When this feature becomes available in the app, we will have an arrow next to our name, on the Settings screen. If we click here, the “Add Account” option will appear. Then, to switch between profiles, simply select (in this same place) the account we want to use.

For Android, there are already some unofficial applications that allow you to do this, but Meta leaves a warning: “We remind you of the importance of using only the official WhatsApp application and not downloading imitations or fake ones to have more accounts on your cell phone.” phone. User messages are secure and private only when the user is using the official app.

This is another new feature announced by the Meta chat app in 2023: this year, channels and the possibility of recording short video snapshots, for example, have already arrived.
