WhatsApp is preparing an important update for communities

WhatsApp is constantly updated. After receiving improvements to Voice Status, one of the next big new features to hit the service is event reminders in community groups.

The potential of these groups is huge for anyone who wants to connect with a large number of followers. Events are already an integral part of these groups. But it was missing one detail: reminders.

Reminders will arrive for events created in community groups

When we have an event scheduled in the Calendar app, we can schedule reminders so we're reminded of it well in advance. This also happens in WhatsApp community group events, as WABetaInfo experts discovered.

Users will be able to set reminders for 30 minutes, 2 hours, or up to one day before the event. You can set up to two of these three reminders, and once the time is up, you'll receive a notification.

This functionality was discovered in beta 2.24.12.5 of WhatsApp for Android, so it is still under development. Considering its urgency, it is believed that it may soon be available for all Android and iOS users.

Please note that users will only be able to activate only two reminders out of the three pre-set reminders. It will be interesting to see if WhatsApp will allow the user in the future to set their own reminders for the times they want.
