Windows 11 has received a lot of changes to its interface, the system taskbar and the start menu being just two examples. As Windows 11 hits the market, many have considered the changes to be “radical,” even though the company is trying to make the experience more enjoyable for everyone.

But there are always improvements that can be made, and recently, some rumors suggest that the system's main menu could receive one of the biggest changes ever.

Currently, when users want to access a list of all the applications installed on the system, it is possible to use the main menu to do so. However, this appears as an alphabetical list.

However, it appears that recent versions of Windows 11 are testing a new update. designwhich would group applications into different categories. For example, applications could be distributed according to their categories, such as programming, entertainment, music, etc.

This idea has already been introduced in Windows 10, but it seems the company is now planning to implement the same in the latest version of the operating system. Apps, when installed, are also organized into the correct categories – although users can change them as they wish.

Meanwhile, this new design recalls the menus used in the App Library on iOS, where apps installed on devices are organized into different categories, in order to find what you want more quickly.

For now, the changes appear to be in testing only, as they were discovered in Windows 11 in the Beta Channel. It is possible that they will eventually become available to all users in the final release of the system.
