The Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024 is scheduled to take place next Monday (10), the event in which Apple will reveal news of the software that will be part of its ecosystem. This year, the company is expected to introduce artificial intelligence capabilities that will integrate with its operating systems.

Although Apple has used previous editions of the event to make major hardware announcements, the software is expected to be the center of attention at WWDC 2024. This is because the company has already introduced some devices this year, and the iPhone 16 should only be introduced in September.

At WWDC 2024, Apple is expected to prioritize artificial intelligence (AI), as is the case with other tech giants such as Microsoft, Samsung, Google, and OpenAI. Unlike other manufacturers, Mação should focus on features targeting daily activities.

What to expect from WWDC 2024?

Apparently, Apple is unlikely to launch its own AI-powered chatbot just yet. Currently, the company has entered into an agreement with OpenAI to integrate ChatGPT into iOS 18. Additionally, it may collaborate with Google to make Gemini available on iPhone.

Instead of launching 100% AI-driven apps, Apple should integrate the technology into pre-existing features of popular apps, like Photos, Safari, Messages, and Notes.

The new features are supposed to allow users to summarize information such as texts, emails, notes, documents and web pages, and make simple adjustments to images, such as removing unwanted objects.

Spotlight may be enhanced to provide more complete and accurate search results. Voice Memo transcription, introduced in iOS 17, can get faster and smarter. iOS 18 is supposed to introduce a messaging system, with suggested responses and emojis generated in real-time, both based on generative AI.

Apple may also announce important news for Siri, which will be able to perform new tasks and respond more naturally. The new commands may include new interactions with devices, especially Apple Watch. VisionOS, the Vision Pro system, should get new accessibility features, in addition to native versions of apps found on iOS and macOS.
