commercial sex workers arrested in Accra for polluting the environs with their indecent act.
The La District Police Command in the Greater Accra region has revealed some landlords in the district convert their rooms into brothels for commercial sex workers to work in.
According to reports, the area which is popularly known as La Apese, is opposite the La Police Station hence raising lots of thoughts.
Meanwhile, the police have raided the area leading to the arrest of 18 suspected commercial sex workers and a man, who was allegedly in bed with one of the commercial sex workers.
Sources closer Brytfmonline reveal those arrested are between the ages of 16 and 37, comprising of five Ghanaians, including the male customer, and 13 Nigerian women.
The police, according to them, some landlords evict tenants and give out the rooms to commercial sex workers who pay a daily rent of GH¢50 and GH¢30 depending on the structure whiles they charge an amount of GHC 5 to GHC20 from their patronisers.
The La District Police Command Crime Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police ASP Richard Darla, said the issue came up during a recent meeting of stakeholders concerned about the security of the area.
Mr Daplah said, had been charged based on Section 275 of the Criminal Offences Act 1960 (Act 29).
