Three (optimistic) trends have characterized the world of work – human resources

Despite the challenging social and economic context we live in, the world of job news is full of optimistic information. HR Consultant Kelly shares some of the trends that have characterized the world of work that highlight such optimism for the times ahead.

Less hassle and cost
After years of supply chain issues, many of which are exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, some companies believe this year will see fewer disruptions and lower freight charges.

Finish-product importers, on demand for income, ensure that the supply chain now represents “a bright spot among the darkest clouds, due to rising interest rates and declining consumer spending.”

Four working days a week
The results for companies that have already applied this way of working in the UK and Ireland are clear. Workers declared that they had lower levels of occupational burnout (burnout), 39% less stress and 48% more satisfaction with their work.

Companies claim to have seen no decrease in revenue, and many have seen improvements in retention, reduced absenteeism and increases in efficiency and productivity.

In Portugal, the four-day-a-week pilot project has also started with the participation of several companies.

More digital skills
The world of digitization may seem daunting, but candidates see some advantages in making work more digital. According to a new survey by IBM, 86% of respondents in 13 countries who hold a digital certificate say it has helped them achieve their career goals, and 75% respond that this certificate is a good way to supplement those they have already received.traditional academic training.

When asked what the “biggest barrier to acquiring more skills” is, survey respondents revealed that the biggest challenge was “not knowing where to start”. Therefore, this is the time for companies to rethink how they engage their employees in the challenge of this digital age and attract the best talent in the market, while constantly providing opportunities for digital education.
