The Kamburić Health Department, through the Epidemiological Surveillance Department, informs that so far, on August 11, the municipality has been official with 928 positive cases of dengue fever in Kamburić. In all, 3,751 cases were ignored, 134 cases are under investigation, and 855 mosquito infestations were recorded spread across the city. So far, the municipality has recorded 3 deaths.
There is still no vaccine for dengue fever. People with symptoms and needing care should seek out the health unit closest to their home, which is open from 7am to 5pm. In cases of severe symptoms, the patient must go to the Hospital Cirúrgico Camboriú (HCC).
Methods of prevention:
– Avoid using dishes in plant pots. If using, sand to brim;
– keep litter boxes covered;
– Always leave the water tanks closed, without any openings, especially the water tanks;
– Plants such as bromeliads should be avoided, because they collect water;
– Treat the pool water with chlorine and clean it once a week;
– keep drains closed and unclogged;
– Wash animal food and water bowls with a brush at least once a week;
– removal of accumulated water from the panels;
– keep the toilet lid closed;
– avoid the accumulation of debris, as it can become a concentration area for dengue mosquitoes;
– Inform the Municipal Health Department of a possible Aedes aegypti outbreak by phone (47) 3365-9515;

    The Department of Epidemiological Surveillance advises residents to remain vigilant and eliminate potential mosquito breeding sites. Additionally, daily use of insect repellents and even aerosols when necessary is important.
