It took 252 hostages (although Israeli forces have since killed more than 35,000 Palestinians, according to health authorities in Gaza, which is controlled by Hamas). His wife also funded a pro-Israel counter-protest at UCLA last week, which turned violent.

Many left the concert as soon as Seinfeld, visibly nervous, took the stage. Among the attendees were Palestinian flags and chants of “Free Palestine” – with shouts of anger coming from future graduates and other people in the rows surrounding Wallace Wade Stadium. Seinfeld focused on giving life advice to students, was more circumspect and did not mention protest in his speech. However, he said, to applause, that he grew up “as a Jewish boy in New York,” which is a “privilege” for anyone who “wants to be a comedian.”
