A8 Sergipe – Aracaju Offers Yellow Fever Vaccine in Eight UBSs

The yellow fever vaccine is available all year round in basic health units in Aracaju. Vaccinations take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with specific days to apply.

According to the SMS Municipal Vaccination Program Coordinator, Yuri Belchiur, between 2019 and 2021, SMS used 6,763 doses of the vaccine. “Because Sergipe is not part of the disease risk areas, the yellow fever vaccine is only available to people who need to travel to these areas, or those traveling internationally, when proven. It is important for a person to seek vaccination 10 days before the trip on the least, until there is enough time for immunization.”

The following are accepted as proof of access to the vaccine: a copy of the plane or road ticket, accommodation reservation, event registration or even proof of accommodation, if the flight is for family members residing in these areas. At the time of vaccination, it is also necessary to present an identity document, proof of residency in Aracaju and a vaccination card.
