Actress Christina Oliveira suffered from severe depression. “I couldn’t get out of bed anymore” – Current Affairs

On Monday, June 20, Christina Oliveira was one of the special guests of the “Gocuha” program. The 58-year-old actress opened her heart in a conversation with Manuel Luis Gocha and publicly took up her battle against depression.

With career depressed for several years, due to divorce and most recently the death of her parents, who left abruptly between 2018 and 2019, Christina has seen her mental health deteriorate dramatically due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“With the pandemic, my head was a gray mist, what am I doing here? Why? Why all this struggle? Why all this perseverance? What am I doing here?,” she recalls, acknowledging that time at home and lack of work left her shattered.

“Even when we have never had an epidemic, before, in our natural state, I have often been out of work. I have been without work for two years which is horrible… It is awful because we question our worth even as people, not just as professionals. I don’t Valuable to me, I’m useless… Because what I really know how to do, for better or worse, what I’ve been doing for 40 years. What?”

The lack of hope for the future made her experience such a dramatic moment. “I got to the point where I couldn’t get out of bed. My luck was my sisters and daughters who pulled me in and forced me to go to the doctor‘, exposed.

Christina Oliveira is now recovering with the help of health professionals. The actress is still taking medication recommended by her psychiatrist, and is preparing to start treatment soon with a psychiatrist.
