MAlthough it has abandoned the possibility of developing a self-driving electric car – called Project Titan – it seems that Apple has not yet given up investing in ambitious projects that could “escape” from its traditional products.
Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman says Apple plans to start investing more in personal robots, meaning it will start developing robots that can perform everyday tasks in customers' homes.
Gorman cites sources close to Apple to suggest that the move to robotics comes at a time when the company is feeling pressure to find new sources of revenue, even pointing to the failure of Project Titan as a situation that served as a catalyst.
It is clear that the project is collaborating not only with the hardware department, but also with teams dedicated to artificial intelligence and machine learning.
