Britney Spears' father asks the singer to pay legal fees

Britney Spears’ father asks the singer to pay legal fees

the Britney Spears’ father filed a motion in court last week for the singer to continue paying her legal expenses, in this case attorneys’ fees, even though her tenure over the artist expired in September, Variety reports.

Meanwhile, Britney’s lawyer, Matthew Rosengart, has already responded to Jamie Spears’ request, convicting him of spending “millions of dollars” from Britney in the exercise of guardianship, even though this money is the “work” of the pop princess.

“The regency has been terminated and Mr. Spears has been shamefully suspended,” he noted in notes to page six.

“Using these circumstances, his request is not only illegal, it’s abhorrent. Britney testified about the pain her father caused and that only makes matters worse. A father who loves his daughter doesn’t.”

Jamie claims in the application that “payment of legal fees is necessary to ensure that guardianship ends quickly and efficiently, allowing Britney to regain control of her life once again.”

“It would be against public policy that Jimmy’s years of dedication to his daughter…could go bankrupt,” the application in question read.

For its part, The Times estimates that Jamie made about $6 million over 13 years by taking 5% of his daughter’s earnings.
