The departure came after Sunday’s defeat against Everton
English press reports said on Tuesday that Chelsea players went out to enjoy the night, a few hours after the defeat by Everton 2-0Last Sunday, with the aim of “strengthening collective spirit” and raising soldiers’ morale.
According to The Telegraph, the departure was organized by Reece James, even before the match, and it almost did not happen, as the captain was injured during the match. However, the plans went ahead and after the match the team headed to London, where they met at a restaurant in Mayfair. Afterwards, the players went to a nightclub in Oxford Circus, where they enjoyed the night.
Coach Mauricio Pochettino is said to have “blessed” the departure and did not ask the players to cancel their plans due to the defeat.
The fun night was initially planned as a Christmas celebration, but was later viewed as a much-needed ‘team building’ session following the defeat.
