Discover the World's Most Luxurious (and Most Expensive) Hotel – Executive Summary

Opened last year in Dubai, Atlantis The Royal has quickly become the most luxurious hotel on the planet, with a stunning blend of luxury and innovation. Billed as “the world’s most luxurious resort experience,” the resort boasts truly astonishing numbers.

795 rooms, 90 swimming pools (44 of which are infinity and private), 17 restaurants and bars, 17 luxury shops, a 3,000 square metre wellness area and almost two kilometres of beach. Those are the numbers.

With a massive futuristic structure spanning 500 metres in length and 178 metres in height, the building consists of 43 floors and six towers that provide a space that allows light and air to pass through, offering a unique indoor and outdoor living experience.

The resort’s interior design is equally stunning, blending elements of Bedouin tradition with modern luxury. The highlight is a massive 11.5-metre-high statue, symbolising the first drop of water in the dry desert, that welcomes guests into the main lobby.

Atlantis The Royal’s 795 rooms are spacious and elegant, with panoramic views of the Dubai skyline and the Arabian Gulf. The crown jewel is the Royal Palace, a two-storey penthouse that has become the world’s most expensive hotel room, costing $100,000 per night. This suite features a private terrace with an infinity pool and lavish décor.

The resort’s culinary offering is unparalleled, with 17 restaurants helmed by celebrity chefs such as Heston Blumenthal, José Andrés and Gordon Ramsay. Highlights include Nobu on the beach and Cloud 22, the latter with panoramic views of the Palm and Dolce & Gabbana.

Other attractions include outdoor DJ sessions, a jellyfish aquarium, and a luxury spa with innovative health treatments, including 24-karat gold facials.
