Two important mini-cycles inaugurated the programming of the National Symposium on Science, Sustainable and Healthy Cities (Sinsem), an event organized by the Study and Research Group on Health Promotion (GEPPS) and the Unesc Physical Education Course. The event, in which speakers from all over Brazil participate, targets the internal and external community and runs until Saturday (11/12) at the university.

In the morning, participants followed discussions on physiology in practice with Professor Luiz Guilherme Antonacci at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC); and public policies to develop sustainable and healthy cities with the Assistant National General Coordinator for Sustainable Development Goals in Santa Catarina, Professor Fernando Barbosa dos Santos.

In physiology, the professional talked about physiological indicators, describing exercise intensity aimed at physical conditioning, heart rate, and interval training for different demographics, among other key points of the area.

In the other mini-session, public policies for developing sustainable and healthy cities were addressed, and within public policies, how to achieve these indicators referred to by the Sustainable Development Goals. The event coordinator commented, “The first day was enriching, with lots of knowledge sharing, deepening, and potential for PE professional to perform in these environments, and contributed so much to the better thinking and performance of these future professionals.” , Professor Jisian Lorendo de Moraes.

The aim of the symposium is to bring together professors, researchers, academics and managers to discuss one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG/United Nations) and the impact of developing sustainable cities for a healthier world, with a focus on research, development and innovation. in societies. environments, people, and active systems.

“We have thought of an event with topics that are important to our academics and also to the entire community in general. The event is free and full of topics of interest to the population and with an interdisciplinary approach that includes all regions and audiences,” Geiziane called.

Parallel to the symposium, there is also the Academic Week of the Physical Education course, with the aim of broadening the discussion and promoting the learning of specific knowledge for the academic training and professional performance of physical education professionals.
