Officer: Michael Garrick leaves Manchester United

Not only is Michael Garrick stepping down as interim manager of Manchester United, he is also stepping down from the England club.

Ralph Ranknick was appointed as the new interim manager a few days ago, but due to managerial reasons he could not sit on the coach’s bench in the final 3-2 win against Arsenal. He was replaced by former interim manager Michael Garrick, who had previously been an assistant to Ole Gunner Solskjer. Later it appeared that the Englishman would stay in the training staff of an experienced German.

Now the hit game for Carrick has become doubly important because at the same time it was a definite farewell to United.

– My time at this great club will always mark the best years of my career. When I signed my first contract fifteen years ago, I could not dream of winning so many trophies in my deepest dreams. I will never forget those wonderful memories of being a football player and a member of the coaching staff. However, after much deliberation and judgment, I decided it was time to leave. I would like to thank all the players and staff as a whole. Carrick said it is always a pleasure to work with such a great team and the friendship will last a lifetime.

– I will always be a supporter of Manchester United and will come to matches if possible. I wish Ralph, staff, players and fans all a bright future. Now I will support the team as a supporter – he insisted.

In a post-match interview, the former England international added that he told players of his decision only after the final whistle of the match against Arsenal.

It is difficult to bet now on what the next stage in the life of 40-year-old Carrick will be. It is known, however, that one of the factors influencing the departure was loyalty to Solskjr.

Carrick played for United from 2006-2018. Later, at the end of his career, he served on the training staff of Jose Mourinho and the aforementioned Solskjr.

As Norway’s interim successor, he was able to lead the “Red Devils” in two Premier League and one Champions League. He won against Villarreal and Arsenal, drawing with Chelsea.
