The government admitted that it had appointed a special advisor to “organize and structure” the committee’s work Military unit Responsible for the health emergency plan, noting that the company has been working with the Ministry of Health “in recent years.”
The Ministry of Health's clarifications follow a question posed on Saturday by the Secretary-General of the Socialist Party, who asked the government whether any private company in the consulting sector participated in developing the health emergency plan.
In a memorandum sent to Lusa, the Office of the Secretary of Health explains that “to organize and regulate contributions/works Military unit A special consultant, IQVIA Solutions, has been appointed, and is part of the group of consultants who have worked with the Ministry of Health in recent years.”
The Ministry adds that the contract is “general and has a value of 9,250 euros + value-added tax,” promising to announce at the beginning of next week “all contracts, projects and values in question from the past eight years”: “Transparency and concludes that this value is a fundamental value for governance.”
The statement adds that the health emergency plan was designed by the Minister’s Office and implemented by A Military unit “Comprised of a group of experts from various fields of health, coordinated by Eurico Castro Alves,” none of the elements received “any remuneration.”
