Phase III influenza vaccination: new kits are included in Salvador | Bahia

New kits have been included in the third and final phase of influenza vaccination, in Salvador, as of Wednesday (9). As per information received from the Municipal Health Service, persons with comorbidities, special medical conditions, permanent disability, members of the armed forces, security and rescue, truck drivers, public transport workers, road workers, port workers and disadvantaged employees. Among the target audience are the freedom regime, the population deprived of liberty and adolescents in social and educational measures.

To receive the vaccination agent, citizens must come, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at one of the 109 fixed stations or at the Barra shopping center (Avenida Centenário). In the case of driving by car, the service is intended exclusively for people with comorbidities, people with disabilities and the elderly. [Veja lista de postos fixos ao final da reportagem]

The Municipal Health Department (SMS) warned that in the previous two phases, there was low adherence to the campaign, with only 36% of the target audience – children aged six months and under 6 years, pregnant women, postpartum women, indigenous peoples, Health workers, teachers, and seniors over the age of 60 – attended jobs to apply the immunizing agent.

According to Minister Leo Prates, the situation is worrying, especially at this time of seriousness in the pandemic, with household occupancy rates at 80%.

People who have received the Covid-19 vaccine must adhere to a 14-day period to get the flu vaccination. The same time period should be followed for those who have received a flu shot and need to be vaccinated against the coronavirus.
