Pregnant woman stabbed and killed – baby is still alive – VG

A pregnant woman died of multiple stab wounds late Thursday evening in Holbeck, Denmark. The child was admitted to the hospital.

Preliminary investigations showed the 37-year-old woman had just finished work when an offender who stabbed her several times attacked her and pulled her out of the car, Central and Western New Zealand police told Danish news agency Ritzau early Friday morning.

A bystander tried to intervene during the attack.

Police received a report of the incident in Samsøvej in Holbæk on Thursday at 11.10pm. There they found the woman badly injured from several stab wounds, and she was later pronounced dead in hospital, writes Extra Magazine.

– The woman was pregnant, but at the moment the child is still alive, the police write in one of them press release.

The child is now in the hospital. Ritsao writes that the police will not reveal more details about the child.

Police said they have launched an extensive investigation. They are there on Friday morning with several people in Samsøvej, who have been searching with the dogs all night.

“We have no suspicion of any specific culprit, and there is no doubt as to a possible motive at this time,” Director of Investigations Martin Eriksen says in the press release.

The police are asking all witnesses who were in the area at the time of the attack to come forward.
