Roman Reigns spoke out after his huge loss at WrestleMania to Cody Rhodes.
At WrestleMania 40, “The Tribal Chief” saw his 1,316-day reign as champion end at the hands of Cody Rhodes, in the main event of the second night. The fight, under Bloodline rules, included Jimmy Uso and Solo Sequa and The Rock even did everything he could to ensure Reigns left Philadelphia still champion. However, with Bloodline neutralized thanks to the help of Jey Uso, John Cena, Seth Rollins and The Undertaker, Cody Rhodes was able to submit Roman Reigns and win the match.
While the victorious Rhodes celebrated in the ring with his family and several members of the staff, Reigns felt depressed by the result, seeing his greatest accomplishments over. In a video posted on WWE's social media, you can see Reigns and Paul Heyman embracing at the top of the ramp.
Although Rhodes was very active in his post-win appearances, appearing on talk shows and on Raw after WrestleMania, Reigns remained noticeably absent. Without appearing at the press conference or making any other appearances, the Chieftain chose to make a very brief statement on his social media about the defeat, accompanied by a video of himself walking on a treadmill: “Yesterday I was sad. Today is the first day.”
