Workers are demanding that their careers be evaluated, according to a document signed by more than 10 trade unions.
The Arbitration Court decided to award minimum services, of about 25%, in the strike to be organized in CP – Comboios de Portugal, which will be attended on Friday by several unions, according to the ruling issued on Wednesday, June 26th.
Communist Party workers will strike on Friday to demand better careers, according to a document signed by more than 10 union organizations.
“A group of trade union organizations have come together to analyze the negotiation processes of the Communist Party and the Intellectual Property [Infraestruturas de Portugal]“Having decided, for the time being, to submit notice of strike to CP next June 28,” the joint statement, issued on June 12, said.
The strike includes all workers and will last throughout the day, to protect “entry before 00:00 and exit after 24:00 on that day”.
The court's decision on this strike and another called for between June 27 and July 14 includes, in addition to the traditional minimum services on relief trains and the transport of dangerous goods and perishable goods, a list of trains that must be secured.
Of these services, on Friday, long-distance service will account for about 23% of the service provided, regional for 25%, urban in Lisbon with 25%, urban in Porto with 25% and urban in Coimbra with 24%.
According to the court, “the necessary human and material resources will be provided to implement the minimum prescribed services, including, in particular, the marches accompanying them, as well as their start and closure, determining their locations, and other necessary operations.”
Joining the strike will be the Association of Intermediate Managers of Railway Operations (ASCEF), the Independent Association of Professional Commercial Railway Workers (ASSIFECO), the National Federation of Transport, Communications and Public Works (FENTCOP) and the National Federation of Professional Railway Workers (ASSIFECO). Railway Workers in Action and Related Workers (SINAFE), the National Democratic Union of Railways (Sindefer), and the Independent Union of Railway, Infrastructure and Related Workers (SINFA).
The Independent National Confederation of Railway Workers (SINFB), the Independent Union of Railway Operators and Related Persons (SIOFA), the National Union of Technical Staff (SNAQ), the Confederation of Transport and Communications Unions (Fectrans) and the Railway Transport Federation (STF). ), the National Union of Portuguese Railway Mechanics (SMAQ) and the National Union of Railway Workers (SNTSF) will also join.
The trade union structures realize that the proposals of the Communist Party management do not respond to the need to improve the professional life of all the company's workers.
“It is time to move from the discontent expressed in workplace talks to action and struggle. Together, united, we will prove to the Communist Party management and sector supervision that workers want to see their working conditions improve,” they stressed.
The unions confirmed that they did not go ahead with the strike in IP, as the meetings are still ongoing.
The unions will then evaluate whether or not there are developments that meet the demands made.
