The government reduces the discount on electric charging in 2023 – news

The subsidy, which is a discount on the cost of each charge registered on the National Electric Mobility Network, “assumes a value of 0.1902 euros per charge” implemented until December 31, 2023, according to the order signed by the Minister of Environment and Climate Action, Duarte Cordero, effective January 1, 2023 .

“In the current situation of energy tariff evolution in the electricity sector, it is important to maintain some stability in charging rates on the national electric mobility network, by supporting users of electric vehicles which helps to promote the adoption of this type of vehicle,” the governor justifies in the preamble to the certificate.

A year ago, when he announced his support for this year, he said that the ministry supported imposing fees on the tram, funded by the Environment Fund, this year “neutralizes the increase in customs duties, and keeps these fees at the level applied in 2021.” from Environment and Climate Action, in a note released, explains that with this subsidy, end users will pay “exactly the same amount” this year as they did in 2021.

The decrease of 0.0712 euros in electric vehicle charging subsidies is accompanied by a 12% reduction in electric mobility tariff prices for the next year, compared to 2022, approved by the Energy Services Regulatory Entity (ERSE).

“For 2023, the tariff rates applicable to suppliers of electricity for electric mobility (CEME), charging point operators (OPC) and charge point holders (DPC) will be reduced by about 12% compared to the tariff applied in 2022,” the regulator said in a note issued in the middle of this month. .

According to ERSE, the 12% reductions in Electric Mobility Network Management Entity (EGME) tariffs represent an “additional impact of -0.11 € per 100 kilometres” (kilometers) as an example.

According to data released by ERSE, in 2021 the electric mobility network enabled more than 1.38 million shipments to be carried out, at a total of 4,959 charging points.

Projections for 2023 show that the electric mobility network will reach 3.67 million additional charges, an increase of 57% compared to the estimate of 2.34 million additional charges for the year.
