The young man was beginning his career as a creative in New York when he was forced to return to Portugal due to his mother’s conviction. David graduated in the USA in Communications and Fine Arts and got his first internship at Vogue magazine.

After his mother was convicted, David found himself facing justice in a dispute with his father, María das Durres’s first husband, José Ambrosio.

David Mota was sentenced in 2010 by a Portimão court to a suspended prison sentence of four years and eight months for the crimes of aggravated fraud and forgery of documents.

The subject of the dispute was the transfer of 127 thousand euros in 2006 from an account in Caixa Geral de Depósitos to two other accounts in the name of David Motta. The young man asked his father to be his guarantor for a house loan at CGD.

David was also forced to return the money to his father and nothing is known about what happened in the following years. But it seems that father and son have reconciled in recent years, at least through David’s social media posts, in which he recalls moments with his father.

The young man, who also lived in London, has collaborations with publications such as “Elle”, “Harper’s Bazaar” and “Paper Magazine”.
