The fixtures for the 2021/2022 premier league seasons have already been released. Newly promoted championship teams Watford, Brentford, and Norwich are certainly happy to be back in the top-English league.

Manchester City is looking to defend the premier League crown and perhaps do better by winning the UEFA Champions league this time round.

Football lovers can breathe again as fans look forward to eventful weekends on their TV screens and watching live games at their respective club stadiums. Surely, we can expect the new season to be crazier than the last considering the new signings going round as clubs seek to position themselves in a position to win titles.

Manchester United for instance has acquired a new Striker Jadon Sancho and if the on-going negotiations are true, may yet acquire a new central defender (Raphael Verane from Real Madrid).

Thrilling VAR dramas

Of course the new season will be incomplete without the VAR dramas that made last season’s competition so thrilling and heartbreaking. The announcement by the British PM Boris Johnson that fans will be back at the stadiums was welcome news not only for clubs but also the football world.

The absence of football fans in stadiums made goal celebrations boring and lacked thrills. The crowd chants, cheers, and boos were dearly missed.

Actually, the season starts on 13th August 2021. Arsenal will face newly promoted Brentford away in the season’s premier on Friday the 13th, August 2021. The next game is on Saturday with a host of other teams featuring.

The season starts in August and ends in May, like it was previously before the pandemic. Fans no longer have to cope with sitting on their couches but can go watch live games, and support their clubs.

What will it take for Man City to mount a successful title defense?

Defending the premier league trophy has been the dream of most clubs. Yet, only a handful of clubs have managed to win it twice in a row.

Last season Manchester City bid goodbye to veteran striker Sergio Aguero and have been trying to find his replacement since. Well, they better do so quickly because rival clubs are boosting their arsenal to dislodge them off their perch.

Certainly, Manchester City is looking to attempt to keep their crown, but they should be ready for fierce competition from clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool.

Obviously we shall wait and see which other team comes up strong to challenge for the trophy.

Currently, the concentration is on strengthening various positions and clubs are preparing for their first pre-season training and games. It remains to be seen which teams will emerge from the pre-season training stronger when the league starts. At the moment, football fans can only wait to see how strong their favorite clubs emerge when the competition starts.

Predictions so far

A supercomputer has already predicted that Manchester City will retain the league title. The same supercomputer predicted that Chelsea will finish third in the league and Manchester United will finish fourth with Liverpool finishing second.

Expect more predictions as English premier league nears the start date. Pundits will give their view and so will football fans. How it all goes down will depend on how the football clubs perform in the field during the season.

New coaches in the premier league 2021/22 season

Tottenham has hired Nuno Espirito Santo as the head coach. The coach will have to prepare his team to face the defending champions Manchester City on 14th August 2021.

Everton has hired Rafael Benitez formerly of Liverpool to steer the club to glory.

Wolverhampton Wanderers has hired Bruno Lage as head coach to replace Nuno Espirito Santos who went to Tottenham Hotspurs.

Crystal Palace has hired former Arsenal talisman Patrick Vieira to take the club into the future.
