Xbox revenue grew 0.5% at the start of the new fiscal year

Microsoft provided its latest financial results and revealed that it had the best start to a fiscal year for its video games division, up about 1% from the previous year’s result, its best ever.

Between July and September 2022, Microsoft Gaming recorded 0.47% growth in revenue generated by its video games division.

During these three months, it raised $3.61 billion, a slight increase from the 3.59 billion recorded in the same period in 2021 and the best new result achieved.

The slight increase was due to improvements in the sale of consoles and accessories, up 13% from the previous year and above Microsoft expectations, while content and services decreased by 3%, partially offset by growth in Game Pass subscriptions, the popular face of the video game division.

Microsoft says it has seen a decrease in the sale of its content and that of other partner publishers, with fewer operating hours and more income. The company did not provide updated figures for the increase in the number of Game Pass subscribers and at the moment the last official figure is 25 million.
