For the study, scientists analyzed data from 18 studies that included more than 34,000 adults, and thanks to this, it was found that there is a greater risk of reactions at the injection site, such as pain, swelling or redness, in women. The risk is significantly higher in women over 65 years of age.

They were more likely to have systemic reactions — such as fever and pain — and more likely to have serious reactions. The study authors noted that women generally reported more side effects than men regarding other health events.
