First, click on your Google Maps profile icon. Then, in the menu that appears, choose the Settings option.

Then, in the new window, scroll until you find the option to start maps in satellite view. If this is enabled, disable it.

Download maps

Having some maps offline is really very important. This is because it helps us avoid surprises if the internet goes out during the flight or there are any connectivity issues. Then we have to click on the offline maps option.

At this point, all we have to do is click on the blue arrow next to the phrase Choose your own map.

In the next window you can select the region you want to download. It’s not just about choosing a small area. By using the ability to pinch or separate the fingers, it is possible to select a much larger area. Then just press transfer.

Then we wait for the download to finish. This way, if something goes wrong and we don’t have a connection, we can always move around without any problems.
